If you are like me, you love buying a new pair of jeans, especially those skinny jeans, but you hate the rough texture of them? I found that by washing the jeans in warm water with regular detergent and 1/2 Cup of table salt thrown in softens the jeans so they feel like they have been worm a thousand times. The sodium actually softens the jeans through som type of chemical reaction. Next time you do the wash, reach for the salt! 
For anyone that asks that question, you haven’t really looked at a stiletto. In fact, you must have not seen a woman wearing a pair of sexy stiletto heels. The stiletto has to be the sexiest shoe ever made. When a woman wears a stiletto her whole demeanor changes. She becomes more self confident and a subtle switch in her walk may occur. You’ll notice she now walks with shoulders back, chest out and head tilted, ever-so slightly, up. This is because you just feel fabulous in a pair.
For one thing, they make your calves look incredible. Like you been working out for days. Men seem inherently drawn to a woman in a stiletto heel, maybe it’s the self confidence she now exudes or could it be those “fierce” stilettos? Even a lonely stiletto sitting out on the store display has a sexiness to it. That’s why stiletto’s aren’t lonely for very long. When I walk into a shoe store, the stiletto always catches my eye, even if I was just going in for some winter boots or some summer sandals, I can’t help but stop and admire. The beautiful curvature and strict heel, make the stiletto quite a site. So, no matter the twisted ankles, the at-times unbalanced feeling, we can’t live without our stilettos.
If you don’t take my word for it, go try on a pair and walk around. Their sure to put a smile on your face and a twist in your hips.
Today let’s talk about the halter top, one of my favorite types of tops. Why? I think it’s one of the more complimentary styles of tops that can flatter almost any body type and shape because of its flexibility. Read on to know why halter tops in general are hot.
1. It emphasizes the cleavage.
Halter tops often have a plunging neckline, great for women who like to show off their cleavage without wearing anything too revealing like a spaghetti-strapped or tube-type blouse. If you want to wear a halter top but do not want show any skin in the breast area, you can wear the ones that have more high-cut necklines.
2. It elongates the neck and the face.
If you want to elongate or highlight your smooth neck, a halter top is definitely the way to go. It’s v-shaped neckline perfectly complements the chest to neck area and creates an elongated illusion up to the face. It also works great for those who have shorter necks or rounder faces who want a thinner look. Worried that your neck is already long enough? Layer on with some great necklaces and you’re good to go.
3. It highlights the shoulders and collarbones.
Many women like to emphasize the popular parts of the body like the legs, breasts, rear, and back, forgetting that there are other sexy parts like the shoulders and the collarbones. Some women are really blessed with beautifully shaped shoulders that have sexy curves and bone placement. If you’re one of them, flaunt this asset of yours with a wonderful halter top with thinner straps.
4. It exposes the back but not too much.
Halter tops often expose the upper part of the back but not as much as a fully backless top would. Thus, halter tops are great if you want to show off just half or a quarter of your back. Most women have really smooth backs because it is a body part that is not often exposed to the sun, air, and other factors. Wearing halter tops allow women to still show off some great skin even if they don’t feel comfortable exposing the other parts of the body.
5. It adds that “oomph” to a casual, everyday look.
Wearing a halter top, even just an ordinary one, is definitely a step up from the regular T-shirt or sleeveless blouse because of its more intricate cut and the tricky way it presents a woman’s body.

We have all heard the saying “Big, Bold and Beautiful”, well it is true. Big is beautiful, if anyone tells you otherwise they are lying. I have seen many big people who look amazing and I never notice, until told, how big they really are. Just because you are bigger than what society considers normal does not mean you are not gorgeous and can’t Strut your Stuff like the rest of ‘em.
The key is to KNOW you are Fabulous (be self confident). Then dress your body, don’t let your body dress you. You pick clothes that flatter you, don’t think you can’t wear anything until you try it on. You just might be surprised at what looks good on you. In our heads we all see ourselves one way, whether a good or bad self image is up to you.
You should always carry yourself with an aire of confidence. Just feeling confident makes you look more attractive. If you don’t have a lot of confidence practice being confident…repeat to yourself that you are beautiful and gorgeous and you will start to believe it too! Fake it til you make it! Put on your make up and more than just sweats to leave the house. There are so many styles and fashions for people of all sizes there is no reason not to look great, no matter what size you may be and where you are going. Take a look at all the beautiful plus sized models and you will see, Plus Sized is definitely Beautiful. I, for one, am happy that people are becoming more and more comfortable with themselves and the view of beauty is changing from “skinny minnies” to normal everyday people.
Have you ever took notice of someone’s purse and wondered what that person may be like? The state and type of purse a woman carries can tell alot about what type of person she is. Is she organized, prepared for the unexpected, a disorganized free spirit, or a little of both? With a little examination, you can easily dissect someone’s personality.
If you were to take a look in mine you would guess, from my brightly colored tote bag, that I was creative, approachable and fun loving. The seemingly chaotic contents, you would find, are completely organized for me and full of hidden treasures. My cell phone and a package of sweeties are readily available, right next to my lip gloss. There are many different types of personalities as well as purses to match them.
The tote is a fun loving person. A shoulder bag boasts fashionable practicality, while the backpack is casual practicality. An oversized purse is a practical person who rarely changes purses, she may carry her whole life in this bag. The clutch bag carrier is someone who is confident and not afraid to let someone else hold their items that won’t fit in this small purse. Small, under the shoulder bags implies sophistication and class, usually office workers tend to carry this bag. The cigar box is someone who is comfortable in their own skin and wants to stand out in the crowd. You can guess at what the sleek designer purse shows. It shows someone who tends to be a handful and high maintenance. They are very fashion conscience.

How to travel and still maintain your beauty, despite the airlines restrictions.
Be prepared before you get to the airport! Look for your beauty items in mini-sizes. Also try finding small bottles and putting your beauty products on those before travel. Keep your items in small Ziploc bags and under 3 ozs and you shouldn’t have a problem. Each container must be 3 ozs or smaller. They all have to be placed in a single, quart sized, clear Ziploc bag. Once you get to the counter these items will have to be taken out and x-rayed. Some travel necessities for women are your skin care and make-up products.
Make sure to keep your skin well moisturized while traveling. Airports and Airplanes tend to be very dry so you will want to be sure to keep your moisturizer handy. It’s a good idea to get a travel-sized spray lotion to take with you. If you can find a light reflecting moisturizer that would be even better. You should spray yourself about every hour or so you are on the plane. Take a neck pillow to use on the plane in case you fall asleep, that way you won’t flatten your hair. Use plenty of lip balm to keep your lips from drying out while flying. A good travel companion is Clarins Beauty Balm, it erases sign of fatigue or stress, so it’s great to use if you traveling by air. Also, remember your sunscreen to protect your skin while driving.
No way we’re leaving our make-up when we’re traveling, so you’ll need a tiny make-up bag with you. You’ll need to remember your under eye concealer, smudge proof mascara, eye lash curler, eye pencil, and your foundation. Or you can simplify and get the Clinique Make-up Travel Kit, which includes everything except your foundation and pencil. It’s also a good idea to get a makeup palette instead of trying to bring all your colors you may want to use, like Sephora’s Colorful Story or Sugar Girl’s Best Friend. Make sure you bring some make-up removing towelettes.
When traveling, wear very little make-up. Go make-up free if possible and then you can moisturize and clean your skin en rout to your destination. If make up is a must, try to wear oil-free or powder make-ups. A good travel regiment when flying is using the Clarin’s Beauty Balm halfway through the flight, clean your face and apply a thick layer. Concentrate on under your eyes, this product contains witch hazel, which can help reduce eye puffiness. Leave it on until about 45 mins before you land then remove and apply your moisturizer and foundation. You can also try a tinted moisturizer to cut back on the need for foundation. Finish up with your under eye concealer, and your eye make up (eye liner, light eye shadow, brow definition using your eye liner pencil). Now you’ll arriver looking refreshed and beautiful.

If you are unsure of what item to buy or what brand, you can simply read the reviews on the items. I hate when I am in a store and am totally confused about what to buy and what brand. Using the internet I can simply do a search of what I think I am looking for or get help selecting a brand, then I can make an informed decision of what I really want to buy. Just the thought of not standing in long lines, getting frustrated with the parking situation and being overwhelmed by too many people all trying to shop at the same place I am, is enough to keep me out of stores.
You can shop anytime you get ready when you shop online because the stores are never closed. They stay open 24 hours and they never close for holidays. Just think, a store open all the time so you don’t have to hurry or worry about finding a parking spot. By shopping online, you get more of a selection and more available sizes. Some sites are taking at home shopping even further and offering Easy-Pays. HSN and QVC, let you use your debit/credit card and pay in monthly installments after you receive the item (easy-pays), I can’t even put my joy into words! Another plus is that many sites will begin sending you coupons once you purchase from them to entice you to keep coming back. Remember that, when internet shopping, browse around and seek out coupons and discounts for the item and for low to no shipping charge. But beware, online shopping is very addictive, just ask my UPS man!

Wedge heels add height but are far more stable than regular high heels. They come as high as 4.5 inches, sometimes even higher, so you can wear spike high heels in a wedge. Stilettos have always been a little hard to master, wedges are comparatively easier. You have so much balance in them, you can stand in them and feel like you are on the floor. So, if you want to wear high heels but you feel unstable on them, go for the wedge. Also, with the sleeker heel they can now be worn with any outfit, whether casual or dressy. You can also find wedges in a boot, who would have thought!

These shoes are great for women who have back issues but still wish to look and feel sexy in heels. I have seen women in their 60′s sporting these high fashion shoes. So, if they can do it and look fabulous, why aren’t you? Wedges are good for balance and they are very chic right now. By just putting on a pair you increase your fashion quotient. But remember wedges are still a heel, so don’t expect to put these on and be able to run a marathon. They are not taking the place of sneakers, yet ; )

It’s all over the news: a different kind of race recently took place in Moscow, Russia that got everyone talking. In this race, in competition were women wearing casual to fancy clothes instead of the usual jogging outfit. And in replace of the normal rubber shoes or athletic footwear used for racing? They were clad in high heels.

The event spurred from the concept that shopping is a sport – something that I’m sure most women would agree to. After all, traversing those big malls in search of the perfect shoe, top, or gift ain’t no piece of meat. Add the mental energy you put into the activity as you analyze the features of all items you see and decide which is the best bargain or deal, and it becomes all the more a challenge. But it is a fun challenge to the shopaholics, just like other types of sports are both fun and challenging for its athletes. And both activities have been known to relieve stress and depression. See the analogy? 
Going back to the race, I can just imagine how difficult that must be, running in high heels. But I guess when the prize is right, in this case what-else-but-a-spanking shopping spree, there’s no stopping the ladies.
There are certain items every woman should have in her closet, call them your signature items or staples. Some things never go out of style and that’s why I have them. You should make sure, for these items you go for quality and comfort over cost. In the end, you won’t regret it. These are my “Fab 11″ items that I will always keep in my closet.
The classic thigh length trench coat is good for cool Fall days before it starts to get too cold. You can look fashionable and be warm with this trench. You should also make sure to have 3 great pairs of shoes. I, loving shoes as I do, say you must keep atleast these 3 with you. A good sneaker, for working out or just to run out the house, a flat (so versatile), and a GREAT pair of heels. I would spend the most on the heels to make sure you get a pair of shoes that look as wonderful as they feel. So steer clear of Payless and other discount shoe stores. Although, I found a wonderful pair of “out of the box new” pair of Issac Mizrahi heels at a salvage store, how incredible was that! That doesn’t happen too often so stick to the high end stores for this purchase.
A button up white collar shirt is something that can be dressed up or down and makes you look wonderful. Whether you have on a pair of jeans, slacks, or a skirt this shirt looks incredible. Keep it dry cleaned and neatly pressed and it will always pop, no matter what you wear. We all love jeans, I have way too many pair but they look great with heels, flats or sneakers and they are so comfortable. Make sure you get a great fitting classic jean. You don’t want to be too fancy with these. Go for the classic style in a dark wash, this style is always in fashion. You can keep this same style indefinately, because they always look great no matter how trends change. You can pair jeans with a blazer for an instant casual outfit or just wear it with a tee. The blazer, a signature style, looks nice with pants, skirts or dresses. So it’s a definate must have for your closet. For this purchase ensure the blazer is fitted nicely on your body and that it can be buttoned.
The ultimate must have is the little black dress. Sounds cliche’, I know, but it’s the truth. There is constantly talk about this item because it is so versatile. The little black dress can be dressed up or down and you can wear it anywhere, except maybe the gym…..hee hee hee. Like the little black dress, the pant suit is another staple that has great versatility. Make sure you buy it in a neutral or dark color. Paired with other items, this one suit can make outfits for an entire work week. Give it a try!
Another item you can not live without is a cashmere sweater. No explanation needed for this one, just put one on and you’ll see why you need this item in arm’s reach. You can choose a cardigan or full sweater. you can’t make a bad choice with it. Lastly is a good bra, whether it’s padded or not, make sure it has good lift and support. Everyone needs lift and support in a bra. Plus, a good bra makes the outfit!
